Job summary

Aurizon is seeking a Technical Trainer at Dry Creek, South Australia, to develop the next generation of locomotive drivers. You will coach, assess and mentor trainees, aligning learning with safe rail operations and practical capability growth.

The role focuses on delivering competency-based training, supporting continuous improvement of programs and promoting safety across the business. A pathway into training and capability development is offered.

Qualifications

• Strong operational rail knowledge and safety commitment.
• Passion for developing and mentoring others.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain with Aurizon support.
• Relevant train driving qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivering training and competency-based assessments for trainee locomotive drivers.
• Providing coaching and mentoring to support learner development and performance.
• Working with operational leaders to identify capability needs and training opportunities.
• Supporting development and continuous improvement of training materials and programs.
• Promoting safe work practices and operational excellence across the business.
