Metso seeks a Technical Support – Pumps specialist to provide field-based technical leadership across the slurry pumps, cyclones, valves and hoses portfolio. You will work with customers and internal teams to improve reliability and lifecycle value while driving aftermarket opportunities across diverse sites in Australia.

The role involves troubleshooting, commissioning, and delivering technical training, with travel to customer sites as required.

Qualifikationen

• Work collaboratively with local and global sales, service and technical teams to strengthen service capabilities.
• Contribute technical expertise to product development, technical sales support, problem management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and deliver technical training for customers and internal teams.
• Maintain an understanding of industry developments, competitor activity and evolving customer needs.
• Build trusted customer relationships through responsive, knowledgeable and high‑quality technical support.

Introduction to the role

Are you an experienced technical professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working directly with customers and seeing the impact of your expertise in the field?

As our Technical Support – Pumps specialist, you’ll provide technical leadership and field support across Metso’s slurry pumps, cyclones, valves and hoses portfolio.

Working closely with customers and our sales and service teams, you’ll help improve equipment reliability, performance and asset life while identifying opportunities to strengthen aftermarket and lifecycle support. From troubleshooting and commissioning to technical training and service development, you’ll play an important role in helping our customers get more from their equipment throughout its lifecycle.

What you’ll do

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, customer‑focused approach. You enjoy getting out to site, understanding how equipment is performing and working collaboratively to find the right solution.

• Technical experience with pumps, mineral processing equipment, rotating equipment, mechanical systems or similar industrial technologies.
• Experience providing field‑based technical support, troubleshooting, commissioning or equipment maintenance.
• An understanding of mining, minerals processing or other heavy industrial operating environments.
• The ability to investigate technical issues, undertake root cause analysis and translate findings into practical recommendations.
• Experience working collaboratively with customers, sales, service, engineering and technical teams.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to a range of audiences.
• An interest in identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability and lifecycle value.
• Experience delivering technical training or coaching would be advantageous.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
