Located on the western edge of the Bowen Basin, Clermont Open Cut is a high performing truck & shovel operation that produces 12 million tonnes of coal per annum. Clermont Open Cut Operation is a safe and inclusive workplace focused on delivering high performance outcomes. Reporting to the Operations Manager/SSE, and as an integral member of the Clermont Senior Leadership team, the primary purpose of the role of Technical services Manager is to provide strategic mine planning direction and manage all aspects of the Technical Services Department onsite. You will play a pivotal role in leading a team of dedicated technical professionals within a complex mining environment. This role will offer variety and opportunity to the right individual.

In this role you will:

• Provide strategic mine planning direction and management of all aspects of the Technical Services department.


• Lead, mentor, and motivate our technical services department to develop, implement and monitor technical initiatives.


• Provide consistent support to all departments onsite and coordinating the information to meet/exceed our annual plans to ensure the delivery of business and strategic objectives.


• Advise and assist the management team in the development of strategies, priorities and schedules, including annual budgets, monthly forecasts, short term mine planning, Life of Mine (LOM) planning and mine closure.


• Lead the way and enabling a technical team to deliver high quality outcomes consistent with mining principles and practical application in an environment that is focused on integration, performance, and continuous improvement.

About You:

• 10+ years industry experience.


• You will have tertiary level qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent in the technical services discipline.


• You will have extensive Technical Services experience in a similar role, preferably in open-cut coal, with proven leadership capabilities and a demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams.


• You have commercial astuteness, which is complemented by well-developed communication, interpersonal and influencing abilities.


• You have a high regard for your personal safety and the safety of your teammates.
