Job summary

Glencore, through the Newlands Closure Project, seeks a Technical Services Superintendent to lead technical planning, civil design, and project delivery for rehabilitation and closure of a long-standing mine near Glenden.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will drive mid-term schedules, QA/QC, stakeholder engagement, and external contractor coordination to ensure safe, cost-effective outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven leadership of technical professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in mining, civil earthworks, rehabilitation, infrastructure or large projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and mentoring to the Technical Services team across planning, design and delivery.
• Lead the Mid-Term Schedule, budget and Life of Mine/Project planning horizons.
• Coordinate technical planning for rehabilitation and closure works.
• Oversee civil/rehabilitation design for constructability and cost-effectiveness.
• Establish QA/QC processes for design, construction and handover.
• Manage projects from planning through execution, tracking scope, cost and schedule.
• Collaborate with operations, contractors and stakeholders to resolve issues.
