Job summary

Talenza in Sydney is seeking an experienced Technical Services Lead to own technical standards, escalations and engineering capability across a diverse client base.

This role blends hands‑on engineering (≈50%) with leadership, mentoring engineers and guiding Microsoft cloud, networking and cybersecurity initiatives.

You will work with local and offshore teams, contribute to pre‑sales, design solutions, and improve governance, processes and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience working for an MSP or managed services provider.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender.
• Broad infrastructure knowledge: Windows Server, AD, virtualization, cloud services.
• Solid networking experience: firewalls, switches, VLANs, VPNs, multi-site.
• Exposure to FortiGate, Meraki or UniFi technologies.
• Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (Essential Eight, ISO 27001).
• Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical direction.
• Ability to handle complex escalations and major incidents.
• Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management.
• Exposure to pre-sales, solution design, estimates or SOWs.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex Level 3 escalations across Microsoft cloud, infrastructure, networking and cybersecurity.
• Set technical standards and provide architectural direction across client environments.
• Mentor engineers and develop capability across local and offshore teams.
• Review and improve Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender and Azure environments.
• Guide networking solutions involving FortiGate, Meraki, UniFi, VLANs and VPNs.
• Support Essential Eight uplift, ISO 27001 alignment and cybersecurity improvement programs.
• Contribute to pre-sales discovery, solution design, scoping and statements of work.
• Present technical recommendations, security findings and risks to senior client stakeholders.
• Improve documentation, service processes, automation and governance.
• Support project delivery and major incidents including after-hours cutovers.
