Qualifications

• Previous estimating experience in sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, precision engineering or CNC machining.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, material requirements and production costs.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
• Confident communication with customers and ability to work with production teams.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files and technical specifications.
• Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for laser cutting, CNC bending and sheet metal fabrication.
• Calculate material costs, machine times, labour and other manufacturing expenses.
• Identify efficient production methods and opportunities to improve cost competitiveness.
• Liaise with customers to clarify requirements and propose practical manufacturing solutions.
• Collaborate with programming and production teams to ensure quoted work is achievable.
• Handle a high volume of enquiries while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Follow up quotations and develop customer relationships to convert enquiries into orders.
• Maintain accurate estimating, pricing and customer records.
• Identify improvements to estimating workflows and commercial processes.
