Job summary

Canberra Rollforming Pty Ltd is seeking a technically skilled Technical Sales Engineer (Engineering Technologist) to support the supply and application of steel and sheetmetal products. You will combine engineering knowledge with client engagement to interpret project requirements and provide practical engineering solutions.

The role emphasizes CAD-based design, cost estimation, and collaboration with design, production, and sales teams to deliver engineered outcomes that meet project demands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a relevant role.
• Proven experience in technical sales, preferably in the steel or building products industry.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate complex concepts.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deepen engagements with clients to assess complex project requirements, advising on building materials and structural design practices.
• Elevate the use of CAD and other design software to create, analyze, and optimize detailed drawings and models.
• Utilize ACT Dimensions for design of prefabricated components, applying engineering principles.
• Use eBend for precision engineering of metal components, considering material properties and stress analysis.
• Perform material and cost estimations and conduct structural stability checks to ensure viable designs.
