Job summary

Turner & Townsend is expanding its Data Centre business in Sydney and seeks experienced Technical Project Managers to join the team. You will manage complex data centre projects, coordinate design and construction, and act as the client interface to drive on-time delivery and budget control.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of project management experience in data centre environments, with a strong grasp of HVAC, electrical systems, generators, fire, security and BMS, plus professional

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management or related field.
• PM/Engineering qualification is preferred.
• 5–10 years of project management experience in a Data Centre or similar technical environment.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle from inception to post-project review.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex projects and programs as the key client interface.
• Develop working relationships, problem solve and drive projects to successful completion.
• Manage design processes to meet client requirements and manage expectations.
• Review project plans, schedules, costs, risks and construction issues.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance on projects.
• Coordinate vendor scope with overall project delivery and contract execution.

Turner & Townsend are leaders in professional services to the Data Centresectorglobally. Due tothe continued success and expansion of our Data Centre business area we are currently recruiting for experienced Technical ProjectManagersto join our Data Centre team across Sydney.

Responsibilities:

• Manage complex projects and programs as the key client interface
• Developing working relationships, problem solving and driving projects to successful completion
• Managing the design process to achieve the client's requirements and manage expectations
• Reviewing project plans and specifications, scheduling, costs saving measures, discrepancies, potential construction problems, etc
• Managing project safety and environmental requirements
• Managing project timelines, risks and reporting
• Managing project budgets and advising on options to keep budget on track
• Being engaged with marketing and business development initiatives
• Co-ordinating vendor scope with overall project delivery
• Contract Execution: Drafting contract documents in strict accordance with legal approved contract templates. Working closely with project team/sto ensure effective and timely document processing and management of contract documents
• Bring strong communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills

Qualifications

• Degree in a Construction Managementa related field
• Technical understanding of Data Centre Infrastructure – HVAC, Electrical, Generators, Fire, Security and BMS
• Professional/tertiary qualification in project management, engineering or construction
• A minimum of 5 - 10 years project management experience,gained within a Data Centre or similar technical environment
• A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project inception stage, design, authority approvals through to construction completion and post-project review
• Excellent knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques
• Ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment
• Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to your client
