Job summary

City of Moreton Bay is looking for a motivated Technical Officer - Planning to assist in planning and development assessment within Caboolture. You will work with experienced planners, processing development applications and supporting cost recovery processes while delivering customer-focused service.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career, studying planning, or wanting hands-on local government experience in a growing community.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Experience with planning regulations and local government processes.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence and White Card (or willingness to obtain).
• Understanding of Development Applications, the Planning Act, DA Rules and key legislation.
• Awareness of the State Planning Policy and SEQ Regional Plan.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the administration and assessment of development applications.
• Reviewing applications to ensure all required information has been provided.
• Calculating and processing development application fees.
• Coordinating referrals and applying relevant assessment requirements.
• Supporting infrastructure charging and cost recovery processes.
• Preparing correspondence, reports, and technical documentation.
• Working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
