We are seeking to establish a pool of Technical Officers - Agriculture for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally have the ability to work as part of a vibrant team, have organisational skills and the ability to be able to give, seek and receive feedback in the workplace. This position may suits individuals who are passionate about horticulture, cropping and animal husbandry in an agricultural context. The role may include providing direct instruction to small groups of students.

Kelmscott SHS provides agricultural education on two sites, and the suitable applicants would be working across both sites.

The suitable applicants would be encouraged to gain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment within two years of position commencement. As a Technical Agriculture Instructor, you would work on a unique agricultural educational farm which specialises in hay cropping with commercial sheep and cattle enterprise providing a quality education for students. Ideally, the suitable applicants should have competence in cropping and animal husbandry. Applicants should hold a C-class driver’s licence, and a Heavy Rigid (HR) licence would be desirable for bus driving.

Kelmscott SHS utilises a school-wide Teaching and Learning Instructional Framework addressing high impact teaching strategies.

Salary and Rating

Please note: The salary level for this position will be determined after the successful applicant is assessed as addressing all eligibility and selection criteria indicated in the relevant attached JDF in the context of the outcomes and selection criteria described.

The highest rate an applicant can start at as a L1 is Level 1.4 (as negotiated with the principal). However, applicants may still be able to commence at a L2.1 or L3.1 if suitably qualified or with requisite experience.

Level 1.3, $74,547 - Level 1.4, $77,574 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA 2024) + 15.3% commuted allowance (PSCA 2024)

Level 2, $79,604 - $85,350 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA 2024) + 15.3% commuted allowance (PSCA 2024)

Level 3, $89,464 - $96,043 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA 2024) + 15.3% commuted allowance (PSCA 2024)

Eligibility
