As a Technical Officer within the Food and Environmental Laboratory, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality diagnostic laboratory services that contribute to the health and wellbeing of the community. Working as part of a skilled and collaborative team, you will undertake a range of routine laboratory activities including specimen reception, processing diagnostic samples using both automated and manual techniques, preliminary evaluation and reporting of results, data processing, specimen dispatch and maintaining laboratory supplies. You will work closely with colleagues across SA Pathology, applying your technical knowledge, experience and skills to established practices and procedures while ensuring a high standard of accuracy, efficiency and service.

At TGO 1 level, you will work both independently and as part of a team, using your knowledge and experience to undertake a broad range of technical activities and contribute to technical projects. You will collaborate with laboratory and medical staff, supervisors and external clients, communicating professionally about specimens, testing and results and providing information to authorised health professionals when required.
You will bring a practical laboratory focus, a commitment to quality and a collaborative approach to this role. We are looking for someone who can work confidently within established procedures while using initiative, sound judgement and strong communication skills to deliver reliable outcomes.
