Job summary

Statewide Clinical Support Services (SCSS) seeks a Senior Calibration Engineering Technician to support SA Pathology by ensuring biomedical and electromechanical equipment is safe, accurate and reliable. You will diagnose issues, perform calibrations, and document results to high engineering standards, collaborating with laboratory staff and contractors.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications and extensive experience maintaining, repairing, calibrating and acquiring complex biomedical and electromechanical equipment to strict engineering standards.
• Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles, techniques and standards and codes (Australian and International).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with ability to prepare complex technical reports, specifications and tender evaluations, interpret customer requirements and develop logical solutions.
• Self-motivated, adaptable and safety-focused, able to work independently or in a self-managed team, delivering quality outcomes under pressure and embracing continuous technological change.

About the role

As a Senior Calibration Engineering Technician, you’ll play a vital hands‑on role in supporting SA Pathology and its customers by ensuring biomedical, electromechanical and other specialised equipment is safe, accurate, reliable and fit for purpose. Working across calibration, planned and remedial maintenance, you’ll apply your technical expertise to diagnose issues, undertake repairs and calibrations, and accurately document results in line with relevant engineering standards. You’ll also work closely with laboratory staff, external agencies and contractors, providing practical technical advice and responsive support.

Joining a small, multi‑discipline team, you’ll bring strong technical capability, sound judgement and a commitment to delivering high‑quality service. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement, apply best‑practice principles and stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry developments.
