Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, face to face or remote customer service and technical support for claims teams.
• Offer SME knowledge for internal technical training to ensure timely determinations.
• Assist claims teams in achieving KPIs and service guidelines.
• Guide and assist stakeholders needing specialist technical support.
• Provide claims strategy recommendations and quality reviews.
• Escalate claims for formal investigation when required.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to return to work or review entitlements.

Overview

As the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical support to the SA Operations, acting as a Subject Matter Expert for internal stakeholders. You will additionally be acting as a technical reference point & providing coaching and advice in accordance with local legislation and business unit procedures.

How you'll make an impact

• Provide high quality, face to face wherever possible, customer service and technical support to claims teams about the claim management process in line with legislation and best practice guidelines;
• Provide subject matter expert knowledge for internal technical training sessions as requested to ensure formal determinations are made in a timely manner;
• Assisting the claims teams in their achievement of KPIs & Service guidelines by;
• Guiding, advising and assisting stakeholders who require specialist technical assistance;
• Providing claims strategy recommendations;
• Undertaking adverse decision quality reviews and endorsements;
• Appropriately escalating claims for formal investigation as required;
• Working closely with the internal stakeholders to produce a return to work or review of entitlements;
• Ensuring outcomes are effectively communicated and actioned within specified timeframes;
• Review and provide feedback about current claim management practices and procedures ensuring emerging trends are identified and managed.

About you

• Demonstrated technical claims management experience;
• Knowledge of the Return to Work Act 2014 and associated case law and developed technical knowledge regarding claims strategies
• Experience in coaching and supporting others
• Previous experience as a technical specialist within all claim management segments
