Job summary

Hoban Recruitment is partnering with a leading Federal Government organisation to source an experienced EL1 level Technical Lead in Workforce Modelling & Analytics.

The role focuses on design, development and continuous improvement of workforce forecasting and analytics solutions within a large-scale transformation program.

Qualifications

• Experience in workforce modelling, planning or transformation within complex organisations.
• Advanced analytical and technical capability including forecasting and scenario modelling.
• Ability to translate business problems into practical modelling frameworks and solutions.
• Experience establishing governance, testing, quality assurance and documentation standards for analytical products.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor teams delivering analytical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and maintenance of workforce forecasting, modelling and analytics solutions.
• Develop future-state workforce models and implementation scenarios for strategic decisions.
• Translate workforce challenges into robust analytical products.
• Apply forecasting, modelling and systems-thinking methodologies to transformation initiatives.
• Establish analytical standards, governance and QA processes; document technical work.

HOBAN Recruitment is partnering with a leading Federal Government organisation to source an experienced EL1 level Technical Lead - Workforce Modelling & Analytics Capability. This is a unique opportunity for a highly analytical and technically capable professional to lead the design, development and continuous improvement of workforce modelling, forecasting and analytics solutions that support large-scale organisational transformation initiatives. The role focuses on workforce reform, future-state planning, forecasting and capability development within a complex enterprise environment.

Locations – Surry Hills or Newcastle NSW

About the Role

As the EL1 level Technical Lead, you will provide technical leadership across workforce modelling and analytics initiatives, translating complex business, workforce and policy challenges into scalable and sustainable analytical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the design, development and maintenance of workforce forecasting, modelling and analytics solutions.
• Developing future-state workforce models and implementation scenarios to support strategic decision-making.
• Translating complex workforce and operational challenges into robust, evidence-based analytical products.
• Applying advanced modelling, forecasting and systems-thinking methodologies to workforce transformation initiatives.
• Establishing analytical standards, governance frameworks, quality assurance processes and technical documentation.
• Maximising the use of enterprise-approved Microsoft technologies and analytical tools.
• Providing technical leadership, mentoring and capability development across the team.
• Engaging with senior stakeholders to deliver insights that inform workforce reform and organisational change programs.
• Building sustainable modelling capability through reusable frameworks, processes and best-practice approaches.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Demonstrated experience in workforce modelling, workforce planning, workforce transformation or implementation modelling within complex organisations.
• Advanced analytical and technical capability, including forecasting, scenario modelling, assumption development and model design.
• Strong experience developing analytical solutions using enterprise-approved tools and technologies.
• Exceptional systems-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex business problems into practical modelling frameworks and technical solutions.
• Experience developing governance, testing, quality assurance and documentation standards for analytical products.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to build team capability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers.
• Strong focus on delivering sustainable, scalable and evidence-based solutions that support organisational outcomes.
