Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline with building products/manufacturing experience.
• Experience in product development, quality assurance, testing, compliance and CI processes.
• Understanding NCC, Australian Standards and construction practices.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and communicate complex information to stakeholders.

About the role

We’re seeking an experienced Technical Engineer to join our team in Horsley Park, NSW. Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide expert engineering and technical support across the business, ensuring manufactured and imported building products meet quality, performance, regulatory, compliance and customer requirements. Working closely with international manufacturing partners and internal stakeholders, you will provide technical leadership across product development, compliance, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives. This role plays a key part in ensuring products meet Australian and New Zealand standards while delivering innovative, compliant and customer-focused solutions to the market.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Lead the technical delivery of new product introductions, including engineering assessments, technical documentation, compliance requirements
• Manage product certification, approvals and compliance activities, ensuring products meet applicable regulatory, technical and market requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and authoritative engineering advice to internal stakeholders, customers and international manufacturing partners, supporting sound technical and commercial decisions.
• Investigate complex product quality and performance issues, lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop, maintain and improve technical standards, specifications, procedures, documentation and processes to support product quality, compliance and business requirements.
• Build technical capability across the organisation through training, mentoring and guidance of sales teams, customers, builders and installers, internal stakeholders and technical staff.
• Provide technical guidance to sales representatives and business development managers to drive project specifications
• Contribute technical expertise to product growth and strategic initiatives, providing market insight and identifying opportunities for innovation, product improvement and business growth.

Success Requirements

• A degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, with experience in a technical engineering role within the building products, construction materials or manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of product development, quality assurance, testing, compliance and continuous improvement processes.
• An understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards and construction practices.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and compliance requirements, and communicate complex technical information to a range of stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience investigating technical, product or quality-related issues.
• Proven stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective relationships with customers, builders, technical partners, manufacturers and internal teams.
• Experience leading technical projects, product launches or product improvement initiatives.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu or similar technical drawing software.
