Job summary

Brunel Australia seeks a Senior Principal/Director level transmission specialist to lead technical outcomes on a major NSW high‑voltage project. You will provide senior technical leadership across HV transmission engineering and oversee design interfaces, with a minimum 15 years of relevant experience.

Based in Greater Sydney and able to commute to Sydney CBD 2–3 days per week, you will guide decision‑making, manage multidisciplinary teams, support project governance and align stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience.
• Experience on 330kV or higher projects.
• Senior Principal/Technical Director level experience.
• Strong HV transmission design knowledge and interfaces.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with project claims $50M-$100M and AER processes.

The opportunity is suited to someone operating at Senior Principal or Director level, with a minimum of 15 years' relevant experience and a strong track record on 330kV or higher transmission projects.

Our client is an established project management and delivery consultancy supporting major infrastructure projects across Australia. They work with clients and project teams to provide technical expertise, project leadership and delivery support across complex engineering and infrastructure programmes.

Profile

• Minimum 15 years relevant industry experience
• Demonstrated technical leadership or design management experience on 330kV or higher transmission projects.
• Background at Senior Principal Engineer, Technical Lead, Technical Director or equivalent level.
• Strong understanding of high voltage transmission design, engineering delivery and technical interfaces.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on major transmission infrastructure projects.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and technical decision-making skills.
• Experience with major project claims in the $50M-$100M range and Australian Energy Regulator (AER) processes will be highly regarded.
• Based in Greater Sydney or able to commute to Sydney CBD 2-3 days per week

Job Offer

• Salary package: $250,000-$300,000, depending on experience.
• Location: Sydney CBD, with an expected 2-3 days in the office each week.
• Expected start: January 2027, subject to contract award.
• Duration: Approximately 3.5 years.
