Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Transmission Lines Engineer to deliver end-to-end technical work on overhead transmission projects up to 500kV across Australia. You will own technical deliverables from concept through construction support and energisation, working within a leading APAC team.

The role involves reviewing designs, managing risk, and liaising with clients and regulators, with clear pathways to senior leadership within a global organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• CPEng accreditation preferred.
• 2–3 years' experience in design and delivery of transmission infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical delivery of overhead transmission projects up to 500kV.
• Review and approve designs, calculations, specs and deliverables.
• Manage technical risk, standards compliance and client requirements across concurrent projects.
• Act as primary technical interface with clients, utilities, contractors and regulators.

Job description

We are seeking a Transmission Lines Engineer based across the East Coast of Australia.

This is a role within one of the strongest transmission line engineering teams in the Asia Pacific. You will take full technical ownership across the project lifecycle — from concept and feasibility through to construction support — on major high-voltage transmission and renewable energy projects across Australia.

The Role:

• Work on end-to-end technical delivery of overhead transmission line projects up to 500kV
• Review and approve designs, calculations, specifications, and project deliverables
• Manage technical risk, standards compliance, and client requirements across concurrent projects
• Serve as the primary technical interface with clients, utilities, contractors, and regulators
• Contribute to business development, proposals, and strategic growth initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline; CPEng accreditation preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in the design and delivery of transmission infrastructure
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER, and PLS-POLE
• Experience in high-voltage tower design up to 500kV
• Understanding of Australian and international transmission standards — AS/NZS 7000, ASCE 74, ASCE 10
