Ihi is seeking a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager for HV Transmission projects in rural Victoria. The role is a 12-month contract, site-based with flexible rosters, located about 2-3 hours from Melbourne. The assignment involves end-to-end delivery, GIS coordination, and close stakeholder engagement.

The candidate will manage budgets, schedules, and risks while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, with reporting to senior leadership and a focus on continuous improvement.

Job Title

Location: Rural Victoria (approximately 2-3 hours from Melbourne)

Contract: 12-month minimum, site-based

Roster: Flexible – roster-based or Monday to Friday, depending on your preference

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of HV transmission projects (220kV and above), including planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and energisation.
• Oversee and coordinate GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) works as a critical component of transmission projects.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk registers, ensuring risks are proactively identified, escalated, and mitigated.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external contractors, utilities, and regulatory bodies to drive project success.
• Ensure project delivery aligns with stringent safety protocols, technical specifications, and compliance standards.
• Provide clear and consistent reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Implement and support continuous improvement strategies as the project portfolio scales.

Qualifications

• Proven project management experience in HV Transmission (220kV and above) projects.
• Hands‑on experience with GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) technology.
• Comprehensive understanding of the full project lifecycle, from early‑stage planning to final energisation.
• Experience managing the construction phase in live infrastructure environments.
• Ability to effectively interface with EPCs, utilities, and tier one contractors.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Residing in (or willing to relocate to) Victoria.
