We are looking for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join a well-established Data hub for a worldwide brand to support a growing portfolio of enterprise data initiatives. The organisation has recently completed a major ERP transformation and is now moving into the next phase of its technology and data journey.
The project portfolio will be varied and could include operational technology, supply chain, data and analytics, enterprise systems and physical sites. This is primarily a technical BA position with business and data analysis sitting under the broader umbrella of data governance & Analytics. It is not a Data Engineering role, nor is it a traditional governance, risk or controls position. The successful candidate will understand how data, systems, architecture and business processes connect and will be comfortable working across both technical and business teams.
Working within the Data Hub, you will support a range of data and technology initiatives across the wider business. You will work closely with business stakeholders, Data Architects, Analytics teams and other technology specialists to understand requirements and translate them into practical technology and data outcomes.
A key part of the role will involve understanding current-state systems, processes and data flows, identifying dependencies and helping define future-state requirements. You will work across data governance, data quality, ownership, definitions, lineage and architecture, while supporting broader reporting and analytics requirements. You will facilitate workshops, gather and document business, data and technical requirements, map processes and data flows and help bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams. You will also support activities such as data validation, testing and implementation as initiatives progress through delivery.
The portfolio is expected to evolve, so you will need to be comfortable moving between different projects and working across multiple areas of the business.
You will be an experienced Technical Business Analyst or Data Business Analyst who has worked within complex enterprise environments and has genuine exposure to data. You should have a good understanding of data governance, architecture, data flows and system integrations and be comfortable discussing these areas with technical specialists. You don't need to be a Data Engineer or Data Architect, but you need enough technical depth to understand how enterprise data moves between systems and how architecture decisions affect the wider business.
Ideally you will come from operational environments and it is advantageous to have worked with complex supply chains, distribution networks, manufacturing operations or large enterprise systems. The governance component of this role is focused on practical data and technology outcomes rather than theoretical risk or controls monitoring.
SAP experience is an advantage, particularly where you have worked across data, reporting, integration, master data or governance within an SAP environment.
