Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced AS400 Senior Consultant in Melbourne to handle complex incidents, drive permanent fixes, and support deployment activities. You will coordinate disaster recovery planning and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure service stability and continuous improvement.

You should bring 8–10 years of IT experience with 6+ years in AS400, RPG, CLLE, and SYNON, plus strong analytical and problem-solving skills for production support and RCA

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of overall IT experience, including 6+ years hands-on AS400 experience.
• Strong expertise in AS400 development and support; proficiency in RPG, CLLE, and SYNON.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex and critical incidents, resolve issues, identify root cause (RCA) and provide permanent fixes.
• Ensure timely resolution within SLA.
• Support deployment activities (production releases).
• Conduct/plan DR by coordinating with infra and other application teams.
• Collaborate with upstream and downstream application leads/infra/DB team/other vendors during issue analysis, change and release management.
• Manage Business stakeholder communications.
• Study and understand application architecture.
• Perform deep technical analysis, debug issues using code, scripts, logs, and tools.
• Recommend automation for repetitive tasks, improve monitoring and support processes.
• Contribute to knowledge base and documentation, implement best practices.

About you

Ability to work effectively with business and technical stakeholders to ensure service stability and continuous improvement

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders

Strong team player with the flexibility to work across one or multiple delivery teams in a collaborative environment

Proactive problem solver with the ability to bring stakeholders together, drive discussions, and identify effective solutions and process improvements
