Job summary

Aurec Human Capital Group is seeking an experienced technical business analyst to support a federal government client in Canberra, leading the mapping of requirements and producing technical BA artifacts such as sequence diagrams and process models.

You will serve as the conduit between technical vendors, SMEs and business stakeholders, testing in non-production environments to become a system SME and translating complex technical concepts into clear requirements while aligning with enterprise

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Business Analysis experience with workshop facilitation.
• Strong technical domain in delivering mobile applications, web applications, SAS tools or data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platform deliveries, specifically AWS or Azure native environments.
• Proven ability to create technical BA artifacts (sequence diagrams, scope modelling, process maps, risk analyses) and translate complex technical SME inputs into plain language.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce platforms, Atlassian Jira, and Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Discover, define, validate, and prioritise business and technical requirements, translating complex concepts into outcomes aligned with enterprise architectural principles and strategies.
• Draft core BA documentation, including process models, risk analyses, data discovery, and sequence diagrams and perform quality reviews on design specifications to ensure business alignment.
• Research documentation, experiment in non-production environments, and consult technical experts to become a system SME and assist teams in documenting delivered solutions.
• Work with project managers to analyse requirements, map logical sequences and dependencies, and translate high-level needs into concrete project deliverables and tasks.
• Engage cross-functional stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party providers, constructively challenging business assumptions while maintaining a customer-centric focus.
• Work autonomously to manage confidential information, calmly handle competing urgent priorities, promote organisational values, and contribute to the BA Community of Practice.

We are looking to engage an experienced technical business analyst to support our federal government client's ongoing, large scale digital transformation to ensure new cloud and application services align with their Architecture principles. You will serve as the conduit between technical vendors, subject matter experts and business stakeholders to facilitate workshops, map out requirement dependencies, and produce technical BA artifacts such as sequence diagrams and process models. You will test and experiment in non-production environments to become a subject matter expert on the client's system, translating complex technical concepts into clear requirements.

Candidates with a Baseline security clearance will be preferred for this position.

Your responsibilities will include:

To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:

• 5+ years of Business Analysis experience, including workshop facilitation.
