Job summary

Healthdirect Australia is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support delivery of the National Health Services Directory (NHSD) work plan. You will translate priorities into clear requirements, process maps and specifications, while supporting partners to integrate with NHSD products.

Reporting to the Head of Product & Delivery, NHSD, you will work with product, engineering, clinical governance, jurisdictional health bodies and integration partners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of business analysis experience, including rapid deployments.
• Experience using JIRA and Confluence in agile projects.
• A tertiary qualification in information technology, business or commerce, or equivalent.
• Experience in healthcare and government is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and define business and technical requirements, artefacts and data analyses.
• Engage SMEs to validate assumptions and constraints early.
• Maintain requirements traceability through the delivery lifecycle.
• Facilitate workshops to ensure stakeholders understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Provide integration support to internal and external integrators.
• Create integrator collateral and update FHIR Implementation Guides.
• Troubleshoot integrator queries and coordinate with technical and product teams.
• Track onboarding progress and elevate blockers as needed.

About the opportunity

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support delivery of the National Health Services Directory (NHSD) work plan.

In this role, you will translate priorities into clear requirements, process maps and specifications, while supporting partners to integrate with NHSD products. Reporting to the Head of Product & Delivery, NHSD, you will work with product, engineering, clinical governance, jurisdictional health bodies and integration partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and define well-structured business and technical requirements and artefacts, including business rules, wireframes, models/diagrams and integration/API data analysis
• Engage subject matter experts to validate assumptions and uncover constraints early
• Maintain requirements traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions to ensure stakeholders understand requirements and acceptance criteria
• Provide technical and integration support to internal and external integrators connecting with the NHSD
• Create and maintain integrator support collateral, including FHIR Implementation Guide updates
• Troubleshoot and resolve integrator technical queries, coordinating with technical, stakeholder and product teams
• Track onboarding progress and elevate blockers as required

About You

You are an experienced Business Analyst with a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail. You know how to ask the right questions to uncover underlying needs before they become delivery risks, and you bring a disciplined, outcomes-focused approach to managing competing priorities.

What you'll bring to the role

• 5+ years of business analysis experience, including rapid deployments
• Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management and teamwork skills
• Solid working knowledge across the IIBA's business analysis knowledge areas
• Experience using JIRA and Confluence, and working within agile project methodology
• A tertiary qualification in information technology, business or commerce, or equivalent
• Experience in healthcare and government, and with complex online tools or large enterprise-scale data systems, is desirable
