Job summary

Hamilton Island Enterprises is seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst to drive the transition from legacy PMS to a modern cloud-based platform across hotel operations and guest journeys.

You will bridge hotel operations, project teams, architects and vendors to ensure designs are practical, tested and ready for cutover and BAU, with a strong focus on enterprise system integrations and data migration.

SENIOR TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST – St Leonards, Sydney

Fixed-Term Contract until June 2027

Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst – Hotel Systems to join our growing technology team and support a major transformation of our hotel technology environment.

Reporting to the Director of Program Delivery, you’ll play a key role in the transition from our legacy Property Management System (PMS) to a modern cloud-based platform, connecting business needs with technology solutions across hotel operations and the broader guest journey.

This role sits at the intersection of business, technology and delivery. You’ll work closely with hotel operations, project teams, architects and technology vendors to understand how our systems need to work together, support technical and solution decisions, and help ensure the new solution works effectively from design through testing, cutover and transition into BAU.

We’re looking for someone with strong enterprise systems experience who can understand both the operational and technical sides of a major platform implementation. Experience implementing or transitioning Property Management Systems (PMS), ERP, reservations or similar enterprise platforms is highly desirable, with hospitality technology experience particularly valuable.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide technical business analysis across the implementation of a new Property Management System and associated hotel technology
• Connect business requirements and operational processes with solution capabilities, helping translate between hotel teams, project delivery, architects and technology vendors
• Develop a strong understanding of end-to-end resort and guest processes and how these are supported across the PMS and connected systems
• Work with vendors and internal technology teams to shape solution designs and ensure they are practical, supportable and aligned with business needs
• Act as a technical point of contact for the project team, helping investigate issues, evaluate options and resolve technical questions
• Challenge vendor proposals, assumptions and solution designs where appropriate, considering the broader technology environment and end-to-end guest journey
• Lead or support integration analysis, interface requirements, data flows and migration activities across the PMS and connected platforms
• Provide technical guidance through System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test coverage, defect investigation, root-cause analysis and coordination of resolution across systems and vendors
• Work with business SMEs during UAT to distinguish process, configuration, integration, data and product issues and drive these through to resolution
• Support data migration, reconciliation and validation to ensure legacy information is transitioned accurately into the new platform
• Identify technical risks, dependencies and design decisions early and work with the appropriate teams to resolve them

What we’re looking for

• Significant experience working with enterprise business applications in a technical business analyst, senior systems analyst, solution consultant, technical lead or similar role
• Demonstrated experience implementing, replacing or significantly upgrading a Property Management System, ERP, reservations platform or similarly complex enterprise system
• Experience supporting a major system implementation through design, configuration, integration, data migration, SIT, UAT, cutover and go-live
• Strong understanding of enterprise applications, integrations, APIs, interfaces and data flows
• Experience diagnosing complex issues spanning application configuration, integrations, data and business processes
• Ability to understand business and operational processes and translate these into practical technical solutions
• Experience working with third-party technology vendors and the confidence to challenge designs, assumptions and proposed solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through complex technical and operational issues
• Ability to provide practical technical guidance to project managers, business stakeholders and delivery teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Experience with hotel Property Management Systems and associated hospitality technology would be highly regarded
• Experience with Agilysys, Oracle Hospitality, Infor, Mews, RMS, Stayntouch or other major PMS platforms would be advantageous
• Experience within hotels, resorts, tourism or another complex operational environment would be advantageous
• A degree in Information Systems, Technology, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience, is desirable
