Job summary

SRG Global is seeking self-driven Technical Assistants to support a large NDT, metallurgy and engineering team during major outages across Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley sites. You will assist technicians and engineers with testing and inspection of plant to ensure reliability and integrity.

This casual role offers ongoing work across the East Coast with travel to various power stations, backed by a supportive management team.

Qualifications

• Hold a White Card (required).
• Tickets: Working at Heights, Confined Spaces and Gas Test Atmosphere.
• Australian working rights.
• Pass a pre-employment medical including drug/alcohol screen.
• Experience in mining/industrial/power settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist NDT Technicians and Inspectors with inspections and testing of plant and machinery.
• Document findings clearly following work packs.
• Conduct replications of metallic surfaces per SRG procedures.
• Travel interstate and intrastate to power stations as needed.

Job description

SRG are seeking self-driven and methodically minded Technical Assistants for upcoming shutdowns across the East Coast of Australia at various Power stations. Opportunity for ongoing work and career development for the right candidates.

The Role

Your role as a Technical Assistant will see you working in a large NDT, Metallurgy and Engineering team within our Power Services division across various Power Station Major outages within the Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley on a casual basis. You will provide assistance to our team of qualified NDT Technicians and Engineers to test and investigate various items of plant and equipment to ensure reliability and integrity. Tasks may include replications, plant survey inspections, and tube testing.

Forming part of a skilled and high performing team, you will have the support of a progressive and experienced management team and be exposed to a variety of interesting and challenging work environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting NDT Technicians and Inspectors to conduct required inspections and testing of plant and machinery
• Documenting findings in a clear and concise format following instruction work packs
• Conduct replications of metallic surfaces in accordance with SRG procedures
• This position may require interstate and intrastate travel

The successful applicant will ideally have:

• Hold a White Card (required)
• Working at Heights, Confined Spaces and Gas Test Atmosphere tickets (required)
• Experience working in mining, industrial or power settings (advantage)
• Previous experience within Manufacturing, Mechanical and Automotive trades (desirable)
• A high attention to detail, ability to follow direction and adhere to Work Health and Safety regulations
• Have the ability to work effectively within a team with strong communication skills and a willingness to challenge yourself and learn
• Australian working rights
• Ability to pass a Pre-employment medical inclusive of a Drug and Alcohol screen
