Job summary

Sigma Aerospace is seeking a Tech Services & Engineering Manager (RM) to lead technical services and engineering support for MRO operations at the Maroochydore base. You will drive maintenance planning, data compliance and configuration control across on- and off-wing activities.

The role requires a CASA Part 66 B1/B2 licence and strong leadership, with exposure to Part 145 processes and collaboration with OEMs, customers and internal teams. Q400 rating is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• CASA Part 66 B1 or B2 licence is mandatory.
• Extensive line and/or base maintenance experience.
• Strong understanding of Part 145 requirements and approved data principles.
• Working knowledge of maintenance planning concepts, work packs and approved data controls.
• Ability to interpret SBs, ADs, repairs and MODSUMS.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an ASIC and meet site-access requirements.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
• Q400 type rating is preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and engineering support to ensure work packs align with approved maintenance data, engineering orders and configuration requirements.
• Support incorporation planning for technical instructions, modifications, SBs, ADs and engineering directives.
• Coordinate planning impacts arising from technical queries, findings or changes to approved data.
• Ensure planning assumptions reflect current aircraft configuration and technical status.
• Support traceability between planned work, engineering approvals and completed maintenance.
• Act as a key escalation point for technical issues and provide guidance to teams.
• Support defect investigation and rectification decisions.
• Work closely with internal and external engineering teams, OEMs, customers and production stakeholders.
• Build and maintain the base maintenance check plan and milestone schedule.
• Prepare and manage work packs, job-card sequencing and planning assumptions.

Role Description Sigma Aerospace is seeking a Tech Services & Engineering Manager to support its on- and off-wing MRO operations from the Maroochydore / Sunshine Coast base maintenance facility. This is a key technical leadership role acting as the focal point for technical engineering solutions across the MRO operation. The role is responsible for technical and engineering support, maintenance planning, work packs, approved data, configuration control, technical escalation, tooling and GSE readiness, and coordination with engineering, production, logistics and customer stakeholders. The position will undertake CASA/EASA Responsible Manager responsibilities. Previous Responsible Manager or post-holder experience is desirable, but not mandatory, provided you have the technical, Part 145 and leadership background required to step into the remit.

Desirable Requirements Q400 type rating is preferred, but not mandatory. Previous CASA/EASA Responsible Manager or post-holder experience is desirable, but not mandatory. Aviation base-maintenance planning or scheduling experience is preferred. Machining, fitting, GSE or tool fabrication experience is desirable.

Key Responsibilities Technical Services and Configuration Support

• Provide technical and engineering support to ensure work packs align with approved maintenance data, engineering orders and configuration requirements

• Coordinate planning impacts arising from technical queries, findings or changes to approved data
• Ensure planning assumptions reflect current aircraft configuration and technical status

Technical Leadership

• Act as a key escalation point for technical issues
• Provide technical guidance to BMMs, SBEs, LAMEs, AMEs and structures personnel
• Support defect investigation and rectification decisions
• Work closely with internal and external engineering teams, OEMs, customers and production stakeholders

Planning and Control

• Build and maintain the base maintenance check plan and milestone schedule
• Prepare and manage work packs, job-card sequencing and planning assumptions
• Track progress and update plans based on aircraft status, defects and emerging work
• Identify constraints early, including parts, access, tooling and resourcing
• Support planning for upcoming checks and ramp-up mobilisation

Materials, Tooling and Logistics Coordination

• Coordinate with Logistics and Stores to ensure parts, tooling and consumables are available in line with the plan
• Drive kit readiness, staging and expediting priorities to protect critical path and aircraft touch time
• Ensure appropriate tooling, GSE and facilities are in place to support the production schedule
• Maintain a forward-look constraints register covering shortages, long-lead items, repairables and tooling conflicts
• Support forecasting of material demand for upcoming checks

Regulatory, Quality and Safety Oversight

• Ensure ongoing compliance with CASA/EASA Part 145 obligations and Sigma procedures
• Maintain audit readiness and support closure of findings and actions
• Champion SMS and WHS culture
• Ensure documentation integrity and approved data use across the operation
