Gadens in Canberra is seeking a Lawyer with 2-4 years PQE to join the Technology, Media and Intellectual Property team. You will work with partners on advisory matters spanning privacy, information law, confidentiality and government data sharing.

Qualifications

• Interest in working with clients across public and private sectors.
• At least 2 years' post-admission experience with focus on privacy, information law, confidentiality and government data sharing, copyright licences, and AI/technology advice.
• Collaborative mindset with initiative and desire to develop your legal career.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work proactively in a team.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an AGSVA security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with partners and senior lawyers on advisory matters in technology, media and IP.
• Advise clients on privacy compliance and regulatory obligations.
• Draft opinions and transactional documents; review and negotiate tech/data contracts.
• Assist with client management and develop your legal career.
• Provide research and drafting of advice; exposure to contemporary tech/data/privacy issues.
