Job summary

Wannon Water is seeking a capable leader to oversee water treatment operations, drive safety standards and team performance. You will supervise plant facilities, coordinate planned and reactive works, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies.

A strong driver’s licence and hands-on operational experience are essential. The role focuses on leading a dedicated team, maintaining water quality, and delivering reliable treatment services across our network.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or equivalent.
• Experience in water industry with water and wastewater treatment processes and management systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly developed organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated success leading and motivating a team to deliver targets.
• Valid Australian driver's licence.

• Provide supervision and oversight to treatment operations, including contracted activities, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Coordinate planned and reactive works with planning and scheduling teams to prioritise resources and respond to incidents.
• Operate and maintain water treatment, disinfection and sewage treatment plants, including water quality monitoring and environmental management.

Job description

What you’ll be doing

• Lead, motivate and develop employees to ensure the achievement of corporate objectives, work orders and treatment operations duties.
• Provide effective supervision and oversight to treatment operationsworks, including contracted activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with our values, Zero Harm expectations, policies and legislative requirements.
• Oversee and coordinate planned and reactiveworks, working closely with planning and scheduling teams to prioritise resources, respond to incidents and ensure maintenance programs are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.
• Operate and maintainwater treatment, disinfection and sewage treatment plants, including water quality monitoring, statutory sampling, environmental management systems and the timely response to treatment incidents.

What you’ll bring

• A Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or suitable equivalent.
• Experience in the water industry with particular emphasis on water and wastewater treatment processes and management systems and practical knowledge and understanding of treatment plant operations and maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Highly developed organisational skills, including the ability to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated success developing, leading and motivating a team to achieve targets and deliverables.
• A valid and current Australian driver’s licence is required.
