Job summary

Park Hyatt Sydney is seeking a hands-on Team Leader for The Living Room to lead service during busy periods, mentor staff and uphold luxury standards in all guest interactions.

You will manage reservations, guide beverage and wine recommendations, ensure food and beverage standards, and support the Manager in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Proven fine dining restaurant experience and training in food and beverage service.
• 1 year minimum in a similar role.
• Current NSW RSA License.
• Well-rounded knowledge of wines and beverages.
• Basic computer literacy, MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Manager by executing policies and procedures.
• Provide exceptional guest service and handle inquiries/complaints courteously.
• Ensure food and beverage standards are implemented.
• Take reservations, greet guests and present menus.
• Provide wine and beverage recommendations and serve in a professional manner.
• Take orders and serve food and beverages; handle payments.
• Lead by example during busy periods and develop team members through coaching.

The Living Room is a contemporary, stylish and sophisticated lounge, serving all day dining menus. Set to become one of Sydney’s food and drink destinations for tourists and locals alike, The Living Room is searching for passionate individuals with an engaging personality. We are currently recruiting for a professional Team Leader - The Living Room.

About the role

• Assists the Manager -The Living Room by ensuring that all policies and procedures are successfully executed.
• Provides exceptional guest service at all times and handles all guest and colleague inquiries and complaints in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Ensures that the food and beverage standards are implemented.
• Taking reservations, greeting customers and presenting them with menus and beverage list
• Provide guests with recommendations of beverage as well as dishes and wines to complement food in a friendly and professional manner
• Taking orders and serving food and beverage in professional manner
• Providing table service such as opening bottles and pouring beverages, clearing tables by returning dishes and cutlery to the kitchen, removing empty bottles and used glasses from the table and refilling / replacing glasses
• Collecting payments for sales and operating point of sales machines and cash register
• Is a hands‑on Team Leader and is present at all times in the Living Room, especially during busy periods.
• Nurtures and develops each team member, maximising their effectiveness by developing their skills and abilities through appropriate training and coaching.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role the candidate should possess the following:

• Proven a fine dining restaurant experience and qualification in food and beverage service training, preferably diploma or certificate in Hospitality or Tourism management
• 1 year minimum experience in a similar role and environment
• Current NSW RSA License.
• Well rounded knowledge of wines and beverages, coffee making skills
• Basiccomputer literacy skills particularly in the use of MS Office.
