Job summary

The YMCA Victoria in Strathmerton, Victoria is seeking a part-time Team Leader to manage a small team and ensure high-quality delivery of programs and services at the Strathmerton aquatic facility. You will lead, inspire and supervise staff to meet standards and provide excellent customer service.

Applicants should have strong admin skills, attention to detail, and prior experience as a duty manager or lifeguard.

About the Pools

Moira Shire Council has a number of aquatic and recreation facilities that are managed by YMCA Victoria. They include two stadiums: Cobram Sports Stadium and Nathalia Sports & Community Centre; an indoor fitness and aquatic centre at the Numurkah Aquatic & Fitness Centre; Seasonal Swimming Pools at Yarrawonga, Cobram, Strathmerton, Numurkah and Nathalia; and the Yarrawonga Foreshore Kiosk and Splash Park.

About The Role

The team leader is an important part of the facility leadership team. You will manage and lead teams of employees in assigned areas and ensure that the delivery of the programs and services meets agreed standards.

They will lead, inspire, and motivate teams through clear and achievable team goals and ensure high standards of implementation of Policies and Procedures.

Team Leaders assist the Manager by working as part of the Manager on Duty roster, where they provide support to customers and staff across all areas of the facility.

This is a part-time position with an hourly rate of up to $33.87 + super.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have strong admin skills, show attention to detail, and have experience leading a small team. You will have experience working as a duty manager or lifeguard and able to commit to a regular pattern of work, whilst being able to include additional rostered hours during seasonal peak times.

• HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
• Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• Experience performing pool lifeguard and duty manager duties
• Understanding of risk management & basic OHS systems
• Aquatic Technical OperatorQualification
