Job summary

YMCA Victoria is seeking a part-time Team Leader to manage and lead staff across Yarrawonga pools and recreation facilities. You will drive delivery of programs and services, mentor a small team, and support on-duty operations to maintain high safety and service standards.

The role requires strong admin skills, attention to detail, and prior experience as a duty manager or lifeguard. Regular rostered hours during peak seasons are expected.

Qualifications

• HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required.
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is required.
• Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate or equivalent qualification is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise teams in assigned areas to ensure services meet standards.
• Contribute to the Manager on Duty roster and provide customer and staff support across facilities.
• Model and enforce YMCA policies and procedures to ensure safety and service quality.

About the Pools

Moira Shire Council has a number of aquatic and recreation facilities that are managed by YMCA Victoria. They include two stadiums: Cobram Sports Stadium and Nathalia Sports & Community Centre; an indoor fitness and aquatic centre at the Numurkah Aquatic & Fitness Centre; Seasonal Swimming Pools at Yarrawonga, Cobram, Strathmerton, Numurkah and Nathalia; and the Yarrawonga Foreshore Kiosk and Splash Park.

About The Role

The team leader is an important part of the facility leadership team. You will manage and lead teams of employees in assigned areas and ensure that the delivery of the programs and services meets agreed standards.

They will lead, inspire, and motivate teams through clear and achievable team goals and ensure high standards of implementation of Policies and Procedures.

Team Leaders assist the Manager by working as part of the Manager on Duty roster, where they provide support to customers and staff across all areas of the facility.

This is a part-time position with an hourly rate of up to $33.87 + super.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have strong admin skills, show attention to detail, and have experience leading a small team. You will have experience working as a duty manager or lifeguard and able to commit to a regular pattern of work, whilst being able to include additional rostered hours during seasonal peak times.

Essential Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• Experience performing pool lifeguard and duty manager duties
• Understanding of risk management & basic OHS systems
• Aquatic Technical OperatorQualification
