Job summary

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a qualified Plumber and Drainer to lead water and wastewater projects in Rockhampton. You will plan and supervise maintenance, installations and refurbishments, ensuring safe, efficient operations and high-quality outcomes.

The role requires a licensed Plumber & Drainer (QLD) with strong planning, leadership and communication skills. A supportive team culture and ongoing training are provided to develop your career within the council.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications as a licensed Plumber and Drainer (QLD), with experience in constructing, installing and refurbishing water and wastewater reticulation infrastructure.
• Ability to lead, motivate and supervise a team.

• Permanent / Full Time
• Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
• $92,128– $94,662 per annum (LGIA Stream C Building and Trades Level 2 – 3 + Site Allowance + Tool Allowance + Leading Hand Allowance 2) + Superannuation
• Potential earnings up to $125,000 per annum, including on-call participation and overtime opportunities (actual earnings will vary based on availability and hours worked).
• Location – Rockhampton

Application Criteria

• Trade qualifications as a licensed Plumber and Drainer (QLD), with experience in constructing, installing and refurbishing water and wastewater reticulation infrastructure, and strong knowledge of AS 3500, the Plumbing & Drainage Act 2002, and safe use of industry tools and equipment.
• Ability to lead, motivate and supervise a team.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to exercise good interpersonal skills dealing with all key stakeholders in a positive manner.
