Job summary

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a qualified Licensed Plumber & Drainer to lead from the front on water and wastewater projects in Rockhampton. You will plan jobs, supervise crews and drive safe, quality outcomes across maintenance and new installations.

The role requires a satisfactory Police Check and offers a permanent, full-time position with on-site work and potential for overtime and on-call earnings. Salary reflects LGIA levels and allowances.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications as a licensed Plumber & Drainer (QLD) with experience in water and wastewater reticulation.
• Knowledge of AS 3500 and related Plumbing & Drainage standards.
• Ability to lead, supervise and coordinate field teams safely.

• Permanent / Full Time
• Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
• $92,128– $94,662 per annum (LGIA Stream C Building and Trades Level 2 – 3 + Site Allowance + Tool Allowance + Leading Hand Allowance 2) + Superannuation
• Potential earnings up to $125,000 per annum, including on-call participation and overtime opportunities (actual earnings will vary based on availability and hours worked).

Application Criteria

• Trade qualifications as a licensed Plumber and Drainer (QLD), with experience in constructing, installing and refurbishing water and wastewater reticulation infrastructure, and strong knowledge of AS 3500, the Plumbing & Drainage Act 2002, and safe use of industry tools and equipment.
• Ability to lead, motivate and supervise a team.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to exercise good interpersonal skills dealing with all key stakeholders in a positive manner.
