Job summary

MidCoast Council in Gloucester is seeking a hands-on Team Leader Road Construction to supervise and coordinate road construction and maintenance across the MidCoast region. You will lead crews, manage plant and materials, and ensure work progresses safely, on time and to quality standards.

Based at Gloucester Depot with potential site-based duties across the MidCoast area, the role requires experience in road construction, leadership and a current Class C driver's licence.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III or higher in Civil Construction, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in road construction, maintenance and leading work crews.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques, plans, specifications, quality and resource management.
  • Experience using civil construction plant, equipment and tools safely.
  • Relevant traffic control qualifications, a current Class C Drivers Licence and strong communication, organisation, problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise crews delivering road construction and maintenance works.
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials and equipment to meet time, quality and budget targets.
  • Monitor works against plans, specifications and work instructions.
  • Ensure traffic control, WHS, environmental and risk requirements are followed.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, support staff and contribute to incident investigations and continuous improvement.

Location: MidCoast NSW
The Opportunity

MidCoast Council is seeking a Team Leader Road Construction to supervise and coordinate road construction and maintenance works across the MidCoast region. You will play an important role in delivering safe, high quality works that support the community's roads and transport network.

This is a hands-on role based in Gloucester suited to someone who can lead people, organise plant and materials, respond to changing site conditions and keep works progressing safely and efficiently.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead and supervise crews delivering road construction and maintenance works.
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials and equipment to meet time, quality and budget targets.
  • Monitor works against plans, specifications and work instructions.
  • Ensure traffic control, WHS, environmental and risk requirements are followed.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, support staff and contribute to incident investigations and continuous improvement.

What you'll bring

What we offer?

Salary: Commencing salary circa $68,500 - $75,400p.a. plus superannuation. (dependent on skills and experience)

Location: This position will be based at our Gloucester Depot at 5 Oak Street, Gloucester. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
