Job summary

Gladstone Regional Council is seeking a permanent full-time Road Maintenance Performance Contract Team Leader to oversee programs within the Roads Program Delivery unit, including RMPC, Minor Infrastructure and TIC contracts. You will lead a team with autonomy and accountability.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma in Civil Construction or equivalent, has strong interpersonal and project-management skills, and will coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to deliver on program objectives.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Construction or equivalent, with civil construction and maintenance exposure.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with team coaching ability.
• Experience coordinating contractors, stakeholders and service providers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee management of Roads Program Delivery contracts including RMPC and TIC.
• Coordinate capital and operational programs and ensure on-time delivery.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team with a focus on safety and quality.
• Investigate issues, write reports, and recommend outcomes.

About the Role

This position is responsible for overseeing the management of programs for the Roads Program Delivery business unit, includingthe Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Road Maintenance Performance Contract (RMPC), Minor Infrastructure Contract and Transport Infrastructure Contract (TIC) fields. Also, Council’s Capital and Operational programs.

You will bring:

• Diploma in Civil Construction and/or demonstrated experience in Civil Construction and Maintenance Projects.
• Specialist discipline knowledge of basic principles, guidelines, standards applicable to the Civil industry.
• Previous experience in supervising / leading a team.
• Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written English) and conflict resolution skills to engage and negotiate with contractors, service providers and employees.
• High-level demonstrated skills in prioritising, planning and organising work to meet regular and concurrent deadlines.
• Experience in carrying out investigations and writing reports inclusive of making recommendations for identified outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Proficient keyboard skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.
• Current Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card).
• Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.
