The City of Newcastle is seeking an experienced Team Leader - Metal Fabricators to join our Building Trade Services team. You will lead a skilled trades team and stay hands-on with fabrication, maintenance, and asset improvement works across diverse Council assets.

This is a hands-on leadership role focusing on mentoring staff, planning resources, and delivering high-quality outcomes. Enjoy a 38-hour week, a 9-day fortnight, and a long weekend every second weekend, with ample opportunities for

Qualifications

• Qualified Metal Fabricator, Boilermaker or Blacksmith with strong fabrication and welding skills.
• Experience with steel, aluminium and stainless steel.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; maintain safe, high-quality work practices.

Responsabilités

• Lead a team delivering fabrication, maintenance, repair and asset improvement works across Council assets.
• Coordinate day-to-day activities; mentor and support employees and apprentices.
• Plan resources and materials; work alongside the team to deliver quality outcomes.
