City of Newcastle seeks a qualified Carpenter & Joiner to join our Building Trades team. In this hands-on role you will deliver construction, maintenance, repair and upgrade works across Council assets, including community facilities and public buildings.

You’ll work both independently and as part of a supportive team, applying trade expertise to deliver safe, high quality outcomes and practical solutions across a varied portfolio.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Carpentry and Joinery
• Experience in building construction, maintenance and repair works
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Practical problem solving skills and a proactive approach

Responsibilities

• Deliver construction, maintenance, repair and upgrade works across Council assets
• Work independently and as part of a team to deliver safe, high quality outcomes
• Contribute to planning through to completion of projects and asset upkeep
