Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a qualified Mechanical Tradesperson to supervise a team responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy vehicle plant and equipment at the Dubbo Workshop. You will lead a small crew, drive safety compliance, and manage work orders, materials, and contracts across state locations.

You will require a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, a NSW MV licence, MR/HR where needed, and a valid White Card.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanical tradesperson with leadership and safety focus.
• Experience with installation, maintenance, repairs and modification of complex machinery.
• Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of trades and non-trades staff to maintain heavy vehicle plant and equipment.
• Oversee maintenance, repairs and safety checks of plant items and vehicles.
• Attend after-hours callouts and travel across NSW as required.
• Ensure processes and quality objectives are met and reporting is accurate.
• Manage materials ordering, WHS inspections, and minor contracts.
