Job summary

Baxters Foods Australia in Campbellfield VIC is seeking a hands-on Team Leader to supervise the Jar Line and drive daily production, safety and quality targets. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will lead a multi-skilled team across production lines, coordinate start-ups, changeovers and line handovers.

This role requires strong coaching, problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Qualifications

• Leadership of a small to mid-size production team in an FMCG environment.
• Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes and HACCP/GMP compliance.
• Ability to coordinate line start-ups, changeovers and handovers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of production employees to achieve daily production targets and KPIs.
• Coordinate line start-ups, changeovers, product transitions and shift handovers.
• Monitor production schedules and ensure output targets are met efficiently.
• Manage line inventory, including stock rotation, lot control, usage records and wastage.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, Food Safety, Quality and Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
• Train, coach and mentor new and existing team members.
• Conduct on-the-job assessments and support workforce development and multi-skilling.
• Work closely with Production Supervisors and Coordinators to ensure accurate Oracle system transactions and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency and operational performance.
• Assist in the development and implementation of training plans and standard operating procedures.

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Team Leader to join our Production team and lead operations on our Jar Line. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this role is responsible for supervising daily production activities, driving team performance, and ensuring production, safety and quality targets are achieved. This role requires a multi-skilled leader capable of working across multiple production lines and supporting broader operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

About you

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing or FMCG production environment.
• Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes and production operations.
• Tertiary qualifications are highly regarded.
• Previous experience in a Team Leader or supervisory role is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example and influence positive team behaviours.
• Strong communication, coaching and people leadership skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of production equipment operation.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
