Auto & General is launching a Desktop Home Assessing Team Leader role in Adelaide to guide a team of assessors and drive end-to-end claims management. You will train, coach and support team members to maintain high standards of service and performance.

Ideal candidates bring experience in Home Assessing or Building Industry, with strong stakeholder engagement and a collaborative leadership style. This role offers opportunities for growth and working across multiple site teams.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a professional team and coaching for performance.
• Experience in Home Assessing or Building Industry with estimating/assessing skills.
• Proven ability to build relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Insurance industry experience is preferred but not essential.

We're assembling our Desktop Home Assessing team and looking for an enthusiastic, empathetic Team Leader to guide a team of talented assessors who will become founding members of something genuinely exciting.

The role:

As a Desktop Home Assessing Team Leader, you will be playing a pivotal role in guiding and overseeing the Desktop Home Assessing Team, who are responsible for assessments of impacted properties, cost validation, ensuring high scope accuracy and end-to-end management of claims assigned to them.

Responsible for providing ongoing training & coaching to the team and ensuring that the Home Assessors are consistent and effective in their approach to a variety of assessments, validation of Scopes of Work, and end-to-end management of a select claim’s portfolio.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead, monitor and inspire the team to execute a high standard of service.
• Provide guidance & support to team members, with the goal of enhancing skills, overcoming challenges and achieving career goals, providing constructive feedback when required.
• Handle escalated claims, complaints and other matters of complexity.
• Implement and continuously refine cost control strategies to achieve planned cost outcomes and drive improvements across the Home Claims Value Chain in line with business objectives.
• Build & maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, providing constructive feedback as required.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and operational activities that will continually improve Claims performance, including systems & process development and staffing requirements.
• Track, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring productivity and quality metrics are in line with internal expectations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience managing a team of professionals along with the ability to lead, inspire, performance manage, coach and mentor a team.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Home Assessing or Building Industry and previous estimating and assessing experience essential.
• Demonstrated experience in building effective business relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Insurance experience is preferred, but not essential
