Job summary

Kirinari Community Services in the CWES region around Orange, NSW, is seeking a Team Leader - Disability to guide Support Worker teams delivering SIL and group-home supports with a person-centred approach.

You will lead, mentor and support staff, provide direct domestic and personal care, and assist clients to engage with their community, while handling program administration. Part-time permanent, minimum 60 hours per fortnight.

Qualifications

• Experience in health sector preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Able to work shifts, sleepovers, weekends and holidays.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Able to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check and NSW Working with Children Check.
• Must have a current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Proficient with computers and various software programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of supports within SIL/Group Homes to ensure person-centred, high-quality care.
• Lead and mentor a team of Disability Support Workers.
• Provide direct support to customers across domestic and personal care tasks and help them access the community.
• Manage administrative functions to support program operations.

About the Position

As a Team Leader, you will oversee the implementation of individualised supports within a supported independent living accommodation settings (SIL/Group Homes). You will strengthen the knowledge and abilities of our Support Worker team to ensure a person-centered and high-quality culture within the program.

You will provide direct support and lead your team across a range of customer needs including; domestic and personal care assistance as well as assisting our customers to access and have a positive connection to the community. This position ensures the operation of an allotted SIL/s with administrative functions whilst providing leadership and mentoring to a team of Disability Support Workers to support and develop skill capacity.

This position is part-time permanent working a minimum of 60 hours per fortnight and will commence as soon as practicable.

About You

• Previous experience in the Health sector is highly regarded
• Demonstrated leadership experience is highly regarded
• Ability and willingness to work shift work, regular sleepovers/active nights, weekends and public/school holidays with significant availability
• Resilience, confidence and the ability to work independently and as a team
• Strong communication skills with the ability to develop positive relationships
• Ability to obtain the NDIS Workers Screen Check prior to commencement
• Ability to obtain a paid NSW Working with Children Check prior to commencement
• Ability to use computers and learn a variety of software/programs
• Smart Phone
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
