Job summary

Settlement Services International (SSI Group) seeks a Team Leader to guide bilingual/bicultural DFV practitioners in Logan and Beenleigh, Queensland. You will coordinate daily operations, supervise staff, recruit, and manage incidents and performance to ensure high-quality support for women from migrant and refugee backgrounds.

The role requires a tertiary qualification in social work/psychology or related field, strong trauma-informed practice knowledge, and excellent leadership and advocacy

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology or human services.
• Experience in domestic, family and sexual violence service delivery and case management; trauma-informed practice.
• Understanding of migrant/refugee victim-survivors, intersectionality and cultural responsiveness principles.
• Knowledge of the multicultural sector and relevant government policies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills including coaching and motivation.
• Advocacy and collaboration with partner organisations.

About the Role

The 99 Steps Team Leader provides leadership and support to the bilingual/bicultural DFV practitioners at 99 Steps – a specialist DFV service providing culturally responsive and trauma informed support to women from migrant and refugee backgrounds in the Logan and Beenleigh area in Queensland.

The Team Leader oversees daily team coordination, including staff supervision, recruitment, case management, incident reporting, and performance management to ensure high-quality service delivery to victim-survivors and stakeholders.

Essential Criteria

• Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology or human services field, and/or demonstrated ability in a similar program role.
• Demonstrated experience in domestic, family and sexual violence service delivery and case management, and strong understanding of trauma-informed practice.
• Demonstrated understanding of the issues faced by victim-survivors from migrant and refugee backgrounds, and understanding of intersectionality and cultural responsiveness principles.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the multicultural sector including relevant government policies and programs.
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills including the ability to effectively coach, mentor and motivate teams.
• Highly developed advocacy skills and ability to collaborate with partner organisations.
