Job summary

CGU, part of Insurance Australia Group (IAG), invites applications for a Team Leader in our Agri Underwriting Centre. Based in Ballarat or Melbourne, the role combines strong leadership with hands-on underwriting guidance to deliver exceptional outcomes for brokers and customers.

The position follows a hybrid model with at least two days per week in the office, enabling collaboration and relationship-building across teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a Team Leader or supervisory role within insurance or a related industry.
• Demonstrated success leading sizeable teams in complex operational environments, creating engaged, high-performing cultures and delivering strong business outcomes.
• Confidence managing performance, providing coaching and feedback, and navigating complex people matters with professionalism and care.
• Strong stakeholder and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish credibility and influence outcomes across multiple levels.
• Excellent organisational and operational leadership capability, including workload planning, prioritisation and balancing competing demands.
• Commercial acumen, sound judgement and a customer-focused approach to decision-making.

Join our Agri Underwriting Centre as a Team Leader and play a pivotal role in supporting the people behind Australia's rural and regional communities. Leading a well-established team of underwriters, you'll create an environment where people feel connected, supported and empowered to perform at their best, while delivering exceptional outcomes for broker partners and customers.

This is a fulltime permanent position that can be located in Ballarat or Melbourne. To enable effective collaboration, relationship-building, and visible leadership, the position follows a hybrid working model, with a requirement of at least two days per week in the office.
