Fairvale Public School is located in South West Sydney and is one of four public schools serving the inner area of Fairfield City. The school currently has an enrolment of approximately 476 students, with 87% of students coming from language backgrounds other than English. The school's current Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) is 172. Fairvale Public School is committed to improving student outcomes in literacy and numeracy, strengthening student and community engagement, and delivering high-impact professional learning to support the successful implementation of the 2024–2027 School Excellence Plan.

Fairvale Public School successfully established its first Inclusive Education Class in 2026, with a second class planned for 2027. We are deeply committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment through strong partnerships with families, allied health professionals and other specialists to support students’ academic, social and emotional needs.

Specific Selection Criteria

• Approval to teach special education and/or experience in teaching students with diverse needs including autism and intellectual disability, and a strong commitment to inclusive education.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team and build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, external agencies and members of the wider community.
• Proven ability to maximise learning outcomes for all students through quality teaching, engagement, high expectations, differentiated program development and assessment, and implementation of individualised learning plans.
• Evidence of outstanding, flexible classroom and behaviour management strategies that focus on improving student engagement and creating a positive learning environment.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Salary and Remuneration Package

Total Remuneration Package: Remuneration package valued at up to $160,942.00. Base salary ranges from $92,882.00 to $141,997.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.
