$111,798 - $132,585 salary package - includes base salary ($98,499 - $116,813), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join TAFE NSW as a Teacher - Meat Processing in a temporary full-time capacity until August 2027. Based predominantly in the Casino region, you will work closely with trainees within industry settings, supporting their learning and development in real workplace environments. The role combines workplace-based training delivery with blended learning, including some delivery on campus at Casino, providing a varied and rewarding teaching experience.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will conduct regular workplace visits and weekly observations of trainees, helping them build their skills and achieve successful training outcomes. You'll utilise technology as part of the learning experience, including the transition to iPads and other digital tools, while maintaining strong industry relationships. Some travel will be required to visit workplaces, with access to a company vehicle provided. As a TAFE NSW teacher, you'll facilitate learning, assess student outcomes, maintain industry currency and contribute to a positive and engaging learning environment.

About You

You are a motivated industry professional who enjoys working independently while also collaborating with others to achieve positive outcomes. Comfortable engaging with trainees on-site in active workplace environments, you bring strong communication skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to build productive relationships with students and industry stakeholders. You embrace technology and are confident using digital tools to support training delivery and assessment. Most importantly, you are passionate about sharing your industry knowledge, supporting learner success, and helping develop the future workforce through high-quality vocational education and training.

To be successful in the role, you will:

  1. Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills, and at minimum hold a Certificate II in Abattoir. However, a qualification in either Certificate III in Slaughter, Certificate III in Boning or Meat Processing would be beneficial.
  2. Have a minimum of three years post-qualification industry experience relevant to your qualifications.
  3. Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document here for details.
  4. Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency, and trainer/assessor competence.
  5. Have demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and communicate confidently with a diverse range of stakeholders.
