The School

Joseph Banks Secondary College (SC) is an Independent Public School in the suburb of Banksia Grove, approximately 40 kilometres from the Perth CBD. The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally be passionate and dedicated educators, innovative practitioners, and highly motivated to work in a collaborative team environment. They would provide students with a purposeful and engaging learning experience to develop their skills, knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Media as a Visual Arts context. Joseph Banks SC has a well-established High Performance Creative and Performing Arts program for students. The program provides students with the opportunity to develop a passion for an Arts context throughout the year and to increase their understanding of other Arts contexts, through engaging with the diverse number of Arts courses the college provides. Suitable applicants will ideally be collaborative teachers with the ability to work well in a team environment. Suitable applicants will ideally possess a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, ideally having knowledge of and experience in a range of instructional strategies and tactics. The College has state of the art facilities and equipment and offers a wide variety of courses from Years 7 to 12 in Media including Design (Graphics), and Photography. Suitable applicants should have the ability to provide high-quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Applicants should ideally have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and able to teach students of varying ability levels across Year 7 to 12 in a highly engaging manner. Strong knowledge and skills in the delivery of one or more Senior Secondary courses (General and Vocational) is highly desirable, along with the ability to be flexible to deliver other Visual Arts contexts. Suitable applicants will ideally be teachers who engage their students and challenge them to achieve their personal best through innovative learning opportunities and who are able to teach students of varying ability levels, differentiating the curriculum in a highly engaging manner. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment will be well regarded as well as a willingness to engage in professional learning and liaise with colleagues, parents and external network.
