Responsabilités

Sheldon College is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher of Media Studies and Film, Television and New Media to join our Arts Faculty for Term 1, 2027, providing cover during a period of Long Service Leave.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and contemporary teaching and learning programs, developing students' understanding of media theory, storytelling and digital production. With a focus on both creative and technical skills, the role provides opportunities for students to explore film, television and emerging media through practical, project-based learning.

About you

• Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications and current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
• Demonstrated experience teaching Media Studies, Film, Television and New Media or related curriculum areas.
• Sound knowledge of relevant ACARA and QCAA curriculum requirements.
• Strong understanding of media theory, storytelling, digital media production and contemporary media practices.
• Proficiency in digital media production and editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
• The ability to develop engaging, differentiated learning experiences that support student achievement.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
• A commitment to student wellbeing, professional development and the College's values.
• Experience delivering the QCAA Film, Television and New Media senior syllabus, or professional experience within the film, television and media industries, will be highly regarded.
