Job summary

Mindarie Senior College is seeking an experienced Manual Arts - Design and Technology teacher with a focus on Woodwork and Mechatronics. The successful candidate will contribute to the Technology & Enterprise Curriculum and support positive student outcomes.

Job description

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2027. Recognised as a high-quality educational campus and one of the first Independent Public Schools (IPS) in WA, students at Mindarie Senior College (SC) are strongly engaged in all facets of their learning. The Role

Mindarie SC is seeking an experienced and passionate Manual Arts - Design and Technology Teacher, with a particular focus on Woodwork and Mechatronics. The ability to teach other technologies courses or in another learning area is desirable. As a valuable member of the teaching staff, the successful applicant would be responsible for educational outcomes within the school's Technology & Enterprise Curriculum. Applicants should have the skills to build positive, caring relationships with students and work within a department of dedicated teachers. The successful applicant will ideally be an effective team member who is a dedicated and highly motivated educator with an excellent knowledge of the Senior School Western Australian Curriculum; able to deliver content in an engaging manner. Our teachers model exemplary teaching and learning strategies in their delivery. As such, the successful applicant should possess a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, ideally having knowledge of and experience in, a range of instructional strategies and tactics. As a reflective practitioner, the successful applicant should possess effective data literacy and a capacity to modify their practice to meet identified student needs. Mindarie SC also has a deeply embedded coaching culture. Staff engage in goal setting, observation and coaching regularly throughout the year. It is anticipated that teaching staff who join the College will be motivated to engage in this space.
