Job summary

Southern Cross District High School is seeking a motivated teacher to educate Years 7 to 9 in Mathematics, English, Science and Humanities, with potential for Duties Other Than Teaching (DOTT) relief across upper primary. Job description

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2027

Southern Cross District High School (SCDHS), located in the Eastern Wheatbelt, provides high quality education and a holistic approach for our 50 students from Kindergarten to Year 10. Our small student population enables our dedicated team to get to know our students and families and offer a personalised learning environment, whilst also providing curriculum that is relevant and meets the needs of our students. The Role

The successful applicant will teach lower secondary students in Years 7 to 9 across Mathematics, English, Science and Humanities (MESH) subjects, as well as practical options. The role can be tailored to the applicant’s strengths, experience and interests, while meeting the needs of the school. Applicants are encouraged to highlight their areas of expertise and interests in their application. There may also be opportunities to provide Duties Other Than Teaching (DOTT) relief across upper primary.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
