St Patrick’s College in Prospect, TAS, is seeking a compassionate Teacher Assistant to join our Inclusive Learning team. This permanent part-time position (3 days per week, 17.49 hours) may extend to 5 days (up to 29.15 hours) from Term 4, 2026, with salary commensurate to qualifications and the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate, collaborative and dedicated Teacher Assistant, who is strongly committed to the ethos and practices of Catholic Education and possess a genuine desire to support the holistic development of young people to join our Inclusive Learning team. We have a permanent part-time position available working 3 days per week (17.49 hours per week), with the potential to increase to 5 days a week (up to 29.15 hours per week), commencing in Term 4, 2026.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.

About You

As a Teacher Assistant you will:

• Relate empathetically to students with diverse and complex needs, delivering dignified continuous 1:1 support, personal hygiene care (including toileting), and meal assistance.
• Confidently undertake daily health and medical management routines, specifically diabetes monitoring and care (training provided).
• Possess the physical capability and confidence to manage personal care and mobility assistance safely.
• Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated TA team to ensure seamless handovers, consistency of care, and ongoing student support.
• Support teachers in delivering student-focused learning outcomes.
• Demonstrate strong literacy and numeracy skills to assist with learning.
• Uphold high standards of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and resilience.
• Build and maintain positive professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.
• Perform effectively in dynamic environments with competing demands.
