Job Description

Scotch Oakburn College is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Teacher in the Creative Design Industries department. This full-time position is based at Scotch Oakburn College, Penquite Campus in Launceston for Term 1, 2027. As an Applied Technology teacher, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and innovative lessons to secondary students in the field of Applied Technology.
  • Developing and implementing a dynamic curriculum that aligns with industry standards and fosters creativity and critical thinking.
  • Providing individualised support to students to enhance their skills in various aspects of design, including woodwork, metalwork, Housing & Design, Design & Production.
  • Assessing student progress through diverse formative and summative methods, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities that integrate creative design concepts across subject areas.
  • Maintaining a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that values diversity and encourages exploration of different design perspectives.
  • Participating in professional development activities to stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in the field of Applied Technology education.
